For the Love of Gobies....

Another important issue was compatibility with my goby and with other possible tank mates.  The goby is a bottom feeder, and I am not intending for him to have any competition for food or territory in his little retreat, and the damsels suited the perfectly.  Another thing considered was ease of care.  Damsels are known to be one of the best of the "starter fishes" for saltwater, due to it's heartiness.  And, of course, color was also a factor.  I love bright colors!  I have gotten bored with the duller colors of the many freshwater varieties of fish.  I also wanted colors to help make my goby stand out in the tank.  Color is also important, because it's sort of hard to study something you can't see very well.  In the tank, to the naked eye, the damsel appears to be a violet and yellow combination.  With the aid of the camera flash, I was able to capture the true blue beauty in this lovely little fish.  the bright yellow tail stands out nicely, and there seems to be just a touch of pink to the belly area.

I have turned off the Visi-Jet VJ100 now, (2AM) as it seemed to be slightly more current in the water than I had suspected, and the damsel appeared to be having trouble swimming into it.  I am off to bed, the tanks are asleep for the night, and I will continue to keep my records updated until my next post.  Chapter 2 has only just begin, and I am still intending to follow up with more "goby information" as soon as possible.  I also will bring current pics of my pink spotted goby, minus his fin, and update my indexes.  I am still on the search for the materials I need to make this article everything I want it to be.  Until my next update....good night to all!
