For the Love of Gobies....

Chapter 2

I am still conducting my research on the various gobies, but am going to extend the first part of Chapter 2 to include the set up of my new saltwater aquarium.  Since last I shared my gobies with you, there has been some underwater trouble in my favorite goby tank.  During the course of last weekend, a puffer fish had spent a few days in the tank at the store with my goby and the damsels and clownfish.  He apparently wasn't very fond of my goby friend, because he had managed to chew away an entire fin from my goby's right side.  All that is left now is a "stub" of the base of the fin....and it had gotten infected.  One of my coworkers, Rob (he's our Marine expert at the store), treated it with medication, and it seems to be healing ok.  We are unsure if the fin will ever grow back, so I have since begun the setup of a 29 gallon saltwater aquarium, to be used as a "disabled goby retreat".

I have kept a steady log, from the time I set the tank up all the way to present, and I will be following it closely and reporting any/all changes here, during the course of my article.

Shall we begin?
